Auto-makers in India are offering huge discounts on their products to boost the sales during the pre-festive season. The latest one to join the discount bandwagon is Czech auto-maker Skoda.
According to Oncars.in, Skoda India is offering discounts of over Rs. 1 lakh on purchase of its mid-size sedan the Rapid. The discounts, which are valid till July 15, includes cash benefits of Rs. 80,000, exchange bonus of Rs. 50,000 and corporate benefits of Rs. 10,000.
Skoda is expected to introduce the new avatar of the Rapid in India during the festive season this year. The company has been putting the upcoming Rapid facelift through tests on the Indian roads for quite some time now. The Rapid facelift is expected to get new dual-tone seat fabrics and features like upgraded infotainment system with Mirrorlink, Climatronic-automatic AC with dust & pollen filter, front centre armrest, rear AC vents and electrically adjustable OVRMs.
Mechanically, the Rapid facelift is expected to remain unchanged. While the 1.6 MPI petrol mill currently develops 103bhp and 153Nm of torque, the 1.5 TDI diesel mill will churn out the same power as the petrol unit with higher torque of 250Nm.
Earlier in June, South Korean auto-major Hyundai offered discounts on its models like Eon, i10, Grand i10, Xcent, Elite i20, Verna, Elantra, and Santa Fe. Italian auto- maker Fiat also offered benefits of up to Rs. 95,000 on select models like the Punto Evo, Linea and Avventura in June.
