Actress Sara Arshin Khan, who was last seen in "Total Siyapaa" movie, has been roped in to play the role of Ravana's sister Surpanakha in the mythological show "Siya Ke Ram."
"Siya Ke Ram," which airs on Star Plus, will soon witness the entry of the sister of main antagonist, Ravana (Karthik Jayaram). Ram (Ashish Sharma) along with Sita (Madirakshi Mundle) and Lakshman (Karan Suchak) will go on exile where they will meet Surpanakha, played by Sara.
"The actress will soon begin shooting in Hyderabad along with the other cast of the show. The actress will be playing the role of Raavan's sister," a source close to the show told IANS.
Interestingly, Sara shot to fame with the television show "Dhoondh Legi Manzil Humein," which aired on Star One in 2011. Last year, she worked in television show "Dilli Wali Thakur Gurls" as Anjini and now she has bagged the role of Surpanakha.
But due to confusion, her namesake Sara Khan, who was in "Sapna Babul Ka...Bidaai" and "Bigg Boss," has been getting calls for bagging a role in the popular mythological show.
"There's nothing we can really do to avoid this confusion. Many times interviews have been slotted with me thinking I am the other actress. When Sara Arshin Khan was doing the film 'Total Siyappa', I kept getting calls," "Bigg Boss contestant Sara told The Times of India.
Sara Arshin Khan also faces the same problem and often gets call asking whether she is the same person who got married on the show or not.
"Quite often people ask me if I am the 'Bigg Boss' actress who got married on the show. And I have to clarify. That's why I now have a middle name on social media," she added.
