Sivakarthikeyan-Hansika's "Maan Karate" has received a clean "U" rating from the censor board.
The film is now confirmed to hit the screens on 4 April. "Maan Karate" will be the first big summer release of 2014 in Kollywood.
Film's music composer Anirudh posted a message on his twitter handle saying, "Maan Karate releases worldwide on April 4th 2014.Hope all our efforts over the past one year pays off:)"
"Maan Kaarte" has story and screenplay written by director AR Murugadoss. The film is directed by debutante Thirukumaran, a former assistant of the "Thuppakki" director. Murugadoss has produced the film along with Madhan of Escape Artistes Motion Pictures.
Expectations have hit fever pitch for "Maan Karate", thanks to its first look posters, teaser, trailer and songs that have generated a lot of positive pre-release buzz.
For the first time, Sivakarthikeyan has been paired opposite Hansika in the film. The on-screen chemistry between the actors is turning out to be one of the major highlights of "Maan Karate."
Both the actors are currently riding a wave with back-to-back successful films. Siva's last three films "Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga", "Ethir Neechal" and "Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam" turned out to be hits. On the other hand, Hansika's past releases in Tamil including "Theeya Velai Seiyanum Kumaru" and "Singam 2" did well at the box office.
It remains to be seen if the duo's first film (as a leading pair) "Maan Karate" will be able to impress the audience and do good business at the box office.
The film is expected to take a solid opening on the first day of its release. However, the Sivakarthikeyan starrer will not enjoy a solo release as Arulnithi's "Our Kanniyum Moonu Kalavaanikalum" is also confirmed to hit the screens on the same day.
