Dhanush and Sivakarthikeyan have been good friends for the last few years and have treated each other as brothers.
Sivakarthikeyan, who starred in films such as "Marina" and "Manam Kothi Paravai" at the initial stages of his career, gained popularity by playing a supporting role in Dhanush's "3." Later, he went on to play the lead role in "Ethir Neechal" produced by Dhanush's Wunderbar Films .
The "Mariyaan" actor appeared in a song sequence along with Nayanthara in "Ethir Neechal." He was also the chief guest during the audio launch of Siva's "Varuthapadatha Vaalibar Sangam" ("VVS"). It is being said that Sivakarthikeyan will be seen doing a cameo in Dhanush's upcoming film "Velai Illa Pattadhaari" ("VIP"), such is the rapport the two actors share .
But, of late, rumours have been doing the rounds that there is a rift between the two actors. However, Sivakarthikeyan has denied the rumours and has confirmed that he is still good friends with the national-award winning actor.
"We both (Myself and Dhanush) talk daily over the phone, and we laugh at such baseless rumors. Dhanush sir is very down to earth, and he himself said that I will grow to a respectable stature. For that I am eternally grateful, " Sivakarthikeyan told Behindwoods.
Sivakarthikeyan rose to fame with back-to-back successful films like "Ethir Neechal", "Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga" and "VVS". The actor's first release of 2014 – "Maan Karate" – also performed well at the box office. The film emerged as Siva's biggest opener by surpasing "VVS" collections.
The actor has a good fan following thanks to his great comic timing. He will be appearing in the role of a police officer in the tentatively titled "Taana", directed by Durai Senthil Kumar. The buzz is that the film's name will be changed to "Khaki Sattai". Anirudh will compose the music, while Dhanush will produce the film under his banner. After completing the project, Siva will be working with Ponram for the second time post the success of "VVS."
On the other hand, Dhanush has several projects in his kitty. He will be seen in cinematographer-turned-director Velraj's "VIP", K.V. Anand's "Anegan" and Vetrimaran's untitled project.
The actor is also currently busy acting in Hindi project – "Shamitabh" – which will have Amitabh Bachchan and Akshara Haasan in pivotal roles.
