Akshay Kumar is one of the most bankable stars of Bollywood along with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan. He has given back-to-back hits this year and is ready to witness another box office success with "Singh Is Bliing".
Nowadays, box office collections are used to measure the success of the film. Akshay has delivered hit films at the box office, but none of them managed to cross Rs 200 crore or Rs 300 crore mark.
So when asked whether he is under pressure to earn big at the box office like Salman Khan's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and Aamir Khan's "PK", he replied that he does risk based stories, which are made on a certain budget.
"I do films which are risk based; a Baby is a risk based film, movie which doesn't have any songs, a movie which is there for certain audience, movie which is not like a masala film. And same way goes with Gabbar which has a message, so there's certain kind of audience to these kinds of films. I love these kind of films in which I can portray what I want to, how I want to. So that's how I look at films, I make films in a very certain budget; I myself am the producer of maximum of the movies which I do. So I have a certain budget to it and I make sure nobody loses money in it," Akshay said in an interview with Bollywood Hungama.
"Singh Is Bliing" is Akshay's fourth film this year, after "Baby", "Gabbar Is Back" and "Brothers". Though his three movies were declared box office hits, none of them managed to cross the Rs 100 crore mark, which is now used to measure the success of the film.
So will "Singh Is Bliing" be able to achieve that mark at the box office? Tell us in the comment section below.
