Bollywood singer Shankar Mahadevan was rushed to the hospital following two back-to-back cardiac attacks.
The 48-year-old singer was admitted to a hospital in Delhi after he complained of chest pain. On Friday, Mahadevan complained of uneasiness following which he was admitted in the ICU.
However, the singer is fine now and will be discharged soon.
"Yes he has been admitted to Delhi hospital, he was feeling uneasy and the doctor advised him for an ECG (electrocardiogram) checkup and then asked him to get hospitalized for a couple of days, but he is perfectly fine, and will be back in Mumbai soon. We request to respect the privacy," Mahadevan's spokesperson confirmed the news to India Forum.
According to reports, Mahadevan was to perform in Gujarat but now the show has been called off. It is being said that the organisers will now replace Mahadevan with Sonu Nigam but nothing has been confirmed yet.
Last week, Mahadevan also attended the sangeet ceremony of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley's daughter Sonali. Mahadevan along with lyricists Javed Akhtar and Prasoon Joshi, Hariharan, Anup Jalota and Kavitha Krishnamurthy along with her violinist husband and maestro L Subramaniam had a fun time at the event in Delhi.
