Ranveer Singh's Simmba (Simba) has had a thunderous start at the domestic box office and collected a whopping Rs 22 crore (approximately) on the first day of its release. The Rohit Shetty directed masala entertainer has turned into an audience magnet which is pulling moviegoers into theatres in large numbers. And on day 2 as well, Simmba has witnessed excellent footfalls in cinema halls across the country and roaring louder than a gunshot.
The morning shows of the cop drama, which also stars Sara Ali Khan and Sonu Sood in lead roles, has registered around 30-35 per cent occupancy on Saturday (day 2). The footfalls are expected to go upto 45-50 per cent in the afternoon shows and gradually increase to 65-70 pre cent in the evening and night shows.
Riding high on the positive words of mouth from critics and audience alike, Simmba is expected to mint over Rs 25 crore (rough figure) on the second day of its release inching closer to cross Rs 50 crore mark at the box office. Simmba has already become Ranveer's biggest opener till date after beating Padmaavat which had minted Rs 19 crore on day 1.
The movie is also dominating the overseas market by taking an excellent start at the Australian box office. It collected A$ 180,253 [₹ 88.58 lakhs] on Friday.
Audience are absolutely in love with Simmba and have already declared it the biggest blockbuster of 2018. Ranveer Singh in his cop avatar has managed to strike the right chord with the audience and entertained them to the T with his quirky style and whistle worthy dialogues.
Other Simmba cast including Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood, Sidharth Jadhav, Ashutosh Rana and others too have impressed the audience with their stellar performances. The tadka of Akshay Kumar and Ajay Devgn's special appearances have raised the entertainment quotient of this high-action
emotional drama.
Director Rohit Shetty has yet again delivered what his audience were craving for and lived up to their expectations treating them a perfect new year gift.
