The movie Simmba (Simba) took the box office by storm since opening day, and it continued to make excellent collection over the weekdays, and it has now crossed Rs 100 crore mark.
The Ranveer Singh starrer has had a good opening day collection of Rs 20.72 crore at the Indian box office. Since then Simmba has been roaring at the commercial circuits with huge numbers every day.
The movie had collected Rs 23.33 crore on Saturday and Rs 31.06 crore on Sunday, thereby, ending the first weekend on a successful note. While it was predicted that Simmba would witness a fall in its collection over the weekdays, the film remained unshakable at the box office even on Monday and Tuesday.
After earning Rs 21.24 crore on Monday, Simmba was just Rs 4 crore short of reaching the big milestone of Rs 100 crore mark. Tuesday (day 5) being a partial holiday (New Year), the action drama witnessed further jump in its business.
With a screen count of around 4.020 across India, Simmba collected Rs 28.19 crore at the domestic market on Tuesday, taking its 5 days total close to Rs 125 crore.
"#Simmba starts 2019 with a big bang... Runs riot at the BO on Day 5 [1 Jan 2019]... Is truly UNSTOPPABLE... Ranveer's fourth film to cross ₹ 100 cr mark... Fri 20.72 cr, Sat 23.33 cr, Sun 31.06 cr, Mon 21.24 cr, Tue 28.19 cr. Total: ₹ 124.54 cr. India biz," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Directed by Rohit Shetty, the cop drama had impressed most of the critics, and now it has been getting all the love from the audience. The masala entertainer may witness a sharp decline in box office collection on Wednesday, but it is still likely to earn in double digits.
With no other major release this Friday and considering the current trend, Simmba is likely to cross Rs 200 crore mark very soon.
