It looks like Ranveer Singh is not at all happy with Ajay Devgn as Singham stealing the limelight from him with his cameo in the Simmba trailer.
The trailer of Rohit Shetty's directorial Simmba starts with Ajay Devgn's Singham character narrating the story of Simmba aka Sangram Bhalerao from Shivgadh (played by Ranveer Singh) who goes on to become a corrupt police officer. While the trailer mainly focuses on Ranveer, it ends with Ajay Devgn's grand dramatic entry of stepping out of a speeding SUV to save Simmba from the clutches of the goons who held him captive.
While most of the media persons didn't like Ranveer's role in Simmba, the actor looked seemingly upset after he received a call as soon as the trailer of Simmba was dropped online.
"Ranveer Singh was so angry after he received a certain call that the normally happy-go-lucky guy's mood completely changed. It was rather evident that his mood had changed after he received the call. The trailer had gone online at that time. So one is not sure whether the call pertained to the reaction of someone important who did not have too many good things to say about Ranveer's presence in the trailer," an eyewitness at Simmba's trailer launch event was quoted as saying by Deccan Chronicle.
There's no doubt that Ajay Devgn's entry as Singham came as a surprise package for fans, Ranveer's character of Simmba comparatively received less appreciation on social media.
It remains to be seen if Ranveer Singh manages to make Simmba his own franchise with his natural performance.
Simmba is an official remake of Jr NTR starrer 2015 Telugu film Temper, directed by Puri Jagannadh. The movie also stars Sara Ali Khan, Sonu Sood and Siddharth Jadhav in prominent roles.
