Silambarasan-starrer Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada has been censored with 'U' certificate on Monday, November 7, thus paving way for its hassle-free release this Friday.
Director Gautham Menon confirmed the news and posted, "Need I say more! Censor done just now. U certificate. And hence the announcement now. Without any further ado,to a theatre near you! #AYM. [sic]"
The makers of Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada had submitted the movie for certification last week and it has been cleared by the regional censor board with minor cuts. It is reported that the board members were happy with the overall content.
A few days ago, it was speculated that Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada was cleared by the regional censor board with 'U/A' certificate and the movie was not eligible for the entertainment tax exemption.
Tamil Nadu state government gives 30 percent tax exemption for the movies that portray Tamil culture. The major criteria to get the rebate is the movies should be cleared by censor board with 'U' certificate.
The 30 percent tax exemption plays a major role in a film's success as the net income will be almost equal to the gross collection. However, the makers of Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada will be obviously happy with the movie being certified 'U' by the regional censor board.
Meanwhile, the stage is set for the release of Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada. The movie has been simultaneously shot in Telugu as Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo with Naga Chaitanya stepping into the shoes of Simbu in the Tollywood version. Both the versions will be out on November 11.
Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada has garnered a lot of viewers' attention with its songs, which are composed by two-time Oscar Award winning musician AR Rahman. 'Showkali' and 'Rasaali' tracks have turned out to be chartbusters.
