The countdown for the release of Simbu's much-awaited AAA (Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan) has started following the successful completion of censor formalities. The Tamil movie will release worldwide on June 23 on the occasion of Ramzan festival.
The members of the regional censor board saw AAA and gave 'U/A' certificate on Friday, June 16. The film has cleared the test without major cuts. However, AAA is not eligible for the 30 percent entertainment tax exemption given by the state government.
The Tamil Nadu government gives tax exemption if the movie meets several criteria and the most important factor is that the movie should get 'U' certificate along with promoting Tamil culture. In the case of AAA, it is surprising to see Simbu's film getting 'U/A' as people were expecting it to be a complete adult entertainer.
Censor Formalities
The makers of AAA had submitted their movie for clearance from regional censor board a
few weeks ago. The censor process is done online now for which the makers submit the application well in advance.
Earlier, the filmmakers often submitted their movies in the last-minute of its release. The films of big production houses used to by-pass the queue and small movies, which waited for the process to be completed for long, were at the receiving end due to the unprofessional practices of both the censor board officials and filmmakers.
With the process now being completely made online, it has apparently become transparent and the makers are now forced to submit their movie for certification at least a week before its release.
AAA is a two-part movie and the first instalment will be out in June. The second part is expected to hit the screens later this year. Shriya Saran, Tamannaah Bhatia and Sana Khan will be romancing three characters played by Simbu in AAA. Mahat Raghavendra, VTV Ganesh and Rajendran play other key roles.
