Simbu is back in the headlines again. After being in the news for all the wrong reasons over the beep song, the actor is finally being talked about for all the right reasons, Thanks to Gautham Menon, who released the trailer of the Tamil film "Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada" for New Year.
The video clip, like Simbu's recent controversial beep song, has gone viral and got record hits.
In three days, the trailer of "Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada", starring Simbu, who is also known as STR, has been viewed over 11 lakh times on its official page on Youtube. The video has garnered positive response and become an instant hit among Simbu's fans.
Sources have revealed that the decision to release the trailer was taken all of a sudden as the makers wanted the audience to give attention to Simbu for the right reasons. Gautham Menon and AR Rahman reportedly felt releasing the trailer might give some kind of relief to STR, who has been receiving flak from various quarters over the beep song.
Meanwhile, Simbu's beep song case will come up for hearing in a Chennai court on Monday, 4 January. The actor wants anticipatory bail, and hopes to get some relief from the court.
On the other end, Anirudh Ravichander has sought 15 days' time to appear before the police in connection with the case. He has written a letter to the officers concerned saying he is outside the country and busy with concerts. He will return to Chennai in the second week of January.
Anirudh has also pointed out he is not involved in the beep song in any way, and it is an attempt by his rivals to tarnish his image.
Simbu and Anirudh landed in trouble after the controversial song composed, written and sung by them two years ago, was recently leaked. A couple of cases has been filed against them under various sections of the IPC, and they have been criticised by public and women's rights organisations as there were lots of cuss words against women in the lyrics of the song.
