With just seven days left for SIIMA 2013 to kick-off, organisers of the grand awards event hosted a pre-award party for celebrities from all four south Indian film industries on 4 September in Hyderabad.
Telugu actor Rana Daggubati, who will be one of the co-hosts at SIIMA 2013, which is scheduled to take place on 12-13 September at the Expo Centre Sharja, United Arab Emirates, personally invited the guests for the pre-party. Several celebrities including Trisha, Ravi Teja, Shriya Sarab, Charmee, Allari Naresh, Nani, Baba Sehgal and Varun Tej were among those who attended the occasion. SIIMA awards was started last year to honour talented personalities from all four south Indian film industries - Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. This year's awards ceremony will take place in the UAE. The two-day event will witness a host of celebrities gathering under one roof.
The awards function will be hosted by actors Arya, Shriya, Sonu Sood and Rana Daggubati. The event will mark scintillating performances from celebrities including Hansika Motwani, Shruti Haasan, Richa Gangopadhyay, Lakshmi Menon, Usha Uthup, Pranitha, Reema Kallingal and Andrea among others.
The awards will be given under various categories in the four industries. In Telugu, Pawan Kalyan's "Gabbar Singh" leads the race with 13 nominations. In Tamil, Vijay's "Thuppakki" tops the nomination list with 10 nods. Vijay has been nominated for the best actor (male) award for his excellent performance in "Thuppakki". The actor will be competing with Dhanush ("3"), Suriya ("Maattrraan"), Vijay Sethupathy ("Pizza") and Vishnu ("Neerparavai") to get the coveted award. [To check entire nomination list, click here]
Trisha will be honoured for ten years of excellence in the cinema field. The pretty actress posted a message saying, "Thank u so much SIIMA fr bestowing this honour upon me.Lookin fwd to sharing 'Ten yrs of excellence in cinema' with u." She still remains one of the most-sought after actors in south cinema. Some of her memorable performances are in the films "Vinnai Thandi Varuavaaya", "Saami", "Abhiyum Naanum" and Telugu flick "Aadavari Matalaku Ardhalu Verule".
