"Director Gaurav has succeeded in making a clean and engaging thriller, that has its share of commercial compromises. The director has done his research work well during the pre-production stage and it is evident in the detailing in the screenplay," said Sai Shyam G of iflickz.
"Intelligent & well researched writing makes story convincing. Deals with how ATM cards r misused (recent ATM attacks)," tweeted entertainment industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai.
"Commercial mix of Appa sentiments, comedy, songs woven into the plot. #Sathyaraj super, liked comedy of Satish & Mahesh," he tweeted.
"Although the movie has been interestingly scripted and the central actors have done their parts well, the 'not-very-interesting' comedy, the unconvincing romance portions and the song placements in the first half lets the movie down. Humour doesn't work as the director intended it to be and one might get the feeling that major segments of the first half could have been written better," according to Behindwoods Review Board.
Performances: "Vikram Prabhu has delivered a good performance without any larger-than-life shades. Sathyaraj, both as a doting father and a sincere police officer, has churned out a nifty performance. While Sathish and Erode Mahesh manage to bring the roof down in regular intervals, Monal Gajjar has made a neat debut and also utters the most sensible dialogue (in the hospital –second half) in the film," said Surendhar MK of OnlyKollywood.
Technical Aspects: "Technically, Sigaram Thodu is super strong. The cinematography angles are different from the usual prototype and it gives a new color to the film. Editing by Praveen KL is a big boost for the film, man the cuts are sharp and stylish which gives racy feel to the film," said Rajasekar S of Cinemalead.
"Not to forget Imman, who has given some super numbers and pulsating BGM," he stated.
Verdict: Engaging Entertainer; Worth a Watch
