"Student Of The Year" Sidharth Malhotra who graduated with "Ek Villain" is on a roll. Not only his mentor Karan Johar, but other producers and directors also want to cast Malhotra in their films.
The 29-year-old actor has been signed by Excel Entertainment for an untitled film. The film will be co-produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's Excel Entertainment and Johar's Dharma Production.
Malhotra not only signed the movie, but also brought his mentor Johar in the project. Malhotra is said to have discussed the film with Johar, after which the latter agreed to co-produce the film.
"Both Sidharth and Karan have come on board for the project. However, it was the latter that played an important role in getting Karan Johar on board when he mentioned the project to him in a conversation," Sidhwani told Bollywood Hungama.
The film will be directed by Nitya Mehra and will be a love story with a time traveller twist in it. The film will go on floors next April.
Malhotra is said to be one of the most successful newcomers in the film industry. He made his debut with "Student Of The Year", which was a commercially successful film. His second film "Hasee Toh Phasee" was also a hit film, but he struck gold at the box office with "Ek Villain" which went on to cross the 100 crore mark in India.
Malhotra is currently working with Akshay Kumar in the official remake of the Hollywood film "Warriors". The Hindi version of the film has been titled as "Brothers" and it is being produced by Dharma Productions.
