"Jigarthanda," which was slated to hit the screens on 25 July, has been delayed. The news has been confirmed by Siddharth who plays the lead role in the Karthik Subbaraj directorial.
The actor took to Twitter and stated that external unfair pressure has forced "Jigarthanda" release to be pushed further.

"Karthik, our whole team and I worked really hard for 'Jigarthanda.' With no respect for us, without even discussing it with us...postponed," Siddharth stated. "Whoever you are who aided in this dirty game, you can delay us you cannot stop us. A good film cannot be killed. #JIGARTHANDA," he said.
Siddharth stated that "Jigarthanda" team is helpless and also sought support from cinema lovers for the film. "All lovers of cinema, please support @karthiksubbaraj & our team. Whenever our film releases it needs all your help. We are helpless today."
Expressing his disappointment, the actor said, "The producer of #JIGARTHANDA has personally informed other producers and distributors about the postponement. He has not informed us yet."
"Jigarthanda is one of the most-awaited films of 2014 as it is director Karthik's second film project after the success of his suspense supernatural thriller "Pizza." The film, touted to be a musical gangster flick, has Lakshmi Menon, Bobby Simha and Karunakaran in pivotal roles.
Expectations are high for the film, thanks to its impressive first look posters, songs and the trailers. The film has been censored with a 'U/A' rating and is waiting for a release date. Earlier, there were paper ads confirming the film's release date as 25 July.
The announcement of the film's delay is sure to disappoint the fans. It remains to be seen as to when the gangster flick, set in Madurai, will hit the screens.
The film's music is composed by Santhosh Narayanan and the cinematography is handled by Gavemic U Ary. The Siddharth starrer is produced by "Aadukalam" producer Kathiresan, while Sun Pictures has acquired the film's distribution rights.
