"Jigarthanda" has Simhaa and Karunakaran in supporting roles. Siddharth and Simhaa have won accolades for the impressive portrayal of their roles. Other actors have also done their parts well. Santhosh Narayanan's music and Gavemic U Ary's cinematography also received appreciation.
"Jigarthanda" is director Karthik's second film, after the critically acclaimed and commercially successful "Pizza". The film was ready for release in May but was delayed to pave for other big releases.
It finally hit theatres on 1 August, garnering tremendous response from critics and fans. The general audience also seem to have liked the gangster flick, which is evident from the increase in the film's screen count. Owing to public demand, some 30 screens have been added for "Jigarthanda," according to Behindwoods.
The film is expected to mint good collections in its opening weekend. It remains to be seen as how the Siddharth starrer performs during weekdays. There are no other big releases until 15 August when Suriya's "Anjaan" hits the screens. Till then, "Jigarthanda" is expected to dominate the box office.
