Sundar C directorial "Aranmanai 2" is all set to release worldwide on Friday, 29 January. The film, releasing simultaneously in Telugu as "Kalavathi", will see the light of the day in above 300 screens in Tamil Nadu.
Its advance booking started a few days ago and met with fantastic response from the audience. Rakesh Gowthaman, the managing director of Vettri Theatres, confirmed the news on Twitter and wrote: "#Aranmanai2 , very good advance bookings. Potential is like even an avg wom will turn the movie a SuperHit... @SathishMSK @ThenandalFilms. (sic)"
As a result, "Aranmanai 2" is going to have a stupendous opening not only in Tamil Nadu but also in Andhra Pradesh. Trade tracker Sreedhar Pillai tweeted: "Terrific Buzz in trade 4 #Aranmanai2 Tamil & #Kalavathi Telugu, sure to take a huge opening due to franchise power. (sic)"
They say "Aranmanai 2" is getting such an opening due to multiple factors, but mainly because of the stars cast, the director's track record and the success of the first instalment. The makers have also promoted the flick well, which has ensured that it gets a good opening.
"Aranmanai 2", which has bagged a "U/A" certificate from the Regional Censor Board, stars Siddharth, Trisha Krishnan and Hansika Motwani. Poonam Bajwa, Vaibhav Reddy, Soori, Kovai Sarala, Manobala, Raj Kapoor and others are also in the cast.
The movie will compete with Madhavan-starrer "Irudhi Suttru", which is the Tamil version of the Hindi film "Saala Khadoos". Experts predict this clash would take toll on each other's business to some extent at the box office.
The first instalment, "Aranmanai", featured Vinay Rai, Andrea Jeremiah, Raai Laxmi and Hansika Motwani in the lead. Director Sundar C himself was seen in an important role. The horror-comedy had turned out to be a hit at the box office, thereby paving the way for its sequel.
