Actress Shweta Basu Prasad and her boyfriend Rohit Mittal, who got engaged in 2017, are getting married today and their marriage is taking place as per Marwadi and Bengali tradition in Pune.
It is known that Shweta Basu Prasad and Rohit Mittal have been in a relationship for nearly five years. It was rumoured earlier that the couple got engaged in 2017 and Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap played the cupid for them. But the actress has kept it private saying, "It's my personal matter and I don't want further discussion on this topic." Now they have also kept the news about marriage secret.
But some photos, which were released on the actress' fan club, show that the two are entering wedlock today. The pre-wedding festivities began with Aiburobhat, a Bengali bridal shower and the actress looked pretty in a traditional red-border Bengali sari. The mehendi ceremony was held on the same day.
While she got Mehendi applied on her legs, Shweta Basu Prasad and Rohit Mittal's family were seen dancing. She was also seen swaying to the beats. The couple had a pool party organised at The Grand Hyatt, Pune. They also had a grand engagement party on the evening of December 12.
The fan club of Shweta Basu Prasad share the photos on Instagram on Wednesday and confirmed that their wedding will take place on Thursday. The fan club wrote, "The mehendi function. However, Rohit Mittal is a filmmaker and he is known for his films like Autohead, Megalopolis and Kshanik. Shweta Basu Prasad started her acting career with 2002's Hindi film Makdee, which got her a National Film Award for Best Child Artist. She made her debut as a heroine with the Telugu movie in Kotha Bangaru Lokam in 2008. Later, she went on to star in nine movies and eight TV serials.
Earlier this year, Shweta Basu Prasad forayed into the web-series industry through Jagapathi Babu's GangStars, which has been written by Nandini Reddy. She played an actress named Aishwarya in the 12-episode web series, which has got a very good response from viewers, who are all praises for her.
