Earlier there were reports that Shraddha Kapoor's upcoming film which is based on the life of Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal was shelved. However, the actress cleared the air when she recently tweeted about the movie and why it was delayed. And since the film's director Amole Gupte has also given a statement to the media that the film is pretty much on the cards, it is now being said that the first shoot schedule of the movie will begin from Saina Nehwal's hometown in Hyderabad.
While there is a lot of anticipation around the biopic, Shraddha Kapoor's look as Saina Nehwal will also be revealed at the time when the team will commence shooting for the film, according to a report in Bollywood Hungama.

It was also reported that after Shraddha Kapoor's last outing Haseena Parker, which was also a biopic based on the life of India's dreaded don Dawood Ibrahim's sister Haseena, both the makers were quite reluctant to go ahead with the project. It was also believed that Shraddha was not so confident about playing the athlete's role with panache on the silver screen.
However, Gupte later rubbished the rumours and said that Shraddha will pull off this challenge with ease and he was having no second thoughts about her acting skills. Shraddha was chosen to play Saina's role on the celluloid because of her resemblance with the Indian shuttler.

"Most girls have played badminton at some point in their lives in school. I feel so lucky to be playing Saina, who's not just been the world's No. 1 badminton player, but is also a youth icon. I can't wait to start prepping for my role," Shraddha was quoted as saying by TOI.
To which Saina responded and said, "I was aware of the film, yes, but I didn't know about the casting. It's great if Shraddha plays me because she is a very talented and a hardworking actress. I am sure she will do justice to the role. The best part is, she is a good friend as well. So it will be easier to teach her some badminton skills. A lot of people did tell me that we do look similar and I think that's a huge compliment because Shraddha is very good looking."
On the work front, Shraddha will be next seen in Saaho opposite Baahubali actor Prabhas. She recently started shooting for a horror comedy film titled Stree, alongside Rajkummar Rao.
