The latest buzz is that Shaad Ali, who is about to remake his mentor Mani Ratnam's Tamil film "OK Kanmani", will bring the "Aashiqui 2" pair back with this flick.
Speculations are made that Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor are to be roped in for the Hindi remake, according to Pinkvilla.
Earlier there were reports that Sonakshi Sinha has been decided to cast opposite Aditya, but now it seems Shraddha has replaced the "Dabangg" actress.
However, when the news of Hindi remake came out, it had emerged that Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan had agreed to play the lead roles, but they apparently opted out of the project due to unavailability of dates.
While Alia is busy with "Shaandaar", "Udta Punjab", "Kapoor & Sons" and has also signed Karan Johar's "Shuddhi" and Ayan Mukherji's next with Ranbir Kapoor, Varun has "Dilwale" and "Dishoom" to wrap up before he begins shooting for "Shuddhi".
On the other hand, Shraddha and Aditya have lesser projects to complete than the "Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania" pair.
Shraddha is currently busy working with Tiger Shroff in "Baaghi" and Aditya will soon be seen in "Fitoor" with Katrina Kaif.
If the deal is sealed, this would be the second film where Shraddha will be sharing screen space with Aditya.
The Hindi remake of "OK Kanmani" or "O Kadhal Kanmani" will be directed by "Kill Dil" director Shaad Ali.
The Tamil film, directed by Mani Ratnam, released in April and it turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 2015.
Featuring Dulquer Salmaan and Nithya Menen in the lead roles, the story of "OK Kanmani" revolves around the two lovebirds -- played by Salmaan and Nithya -- who are reluctant to get married. The film also shows the phase of live-in relationship.
