One of B-town's much loved on-screen couples, Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor who created tremendous buzz with blockbuster "Aashiqui 2", are back together to share screen space in another love story "Milan Talkies".
Director Tigmanshu Dhulia has announced that both Shraddha and Aditya have been roped in for his ambitious project, thus ending speculations regarding the lead actors.
"Aditya and Shraddha have been finalised for the film and we are yet to begin the shooting. I had Shraddha in my mind before 'Aashiqui 2' happened. She came for the auditions two years ago. She was the first choice for the film," The Times of India quoted Dhulia.
Previously, the role of the male lead was offered to Shahid Kapoor and Imran Khan but they both walked out citing date issues. There were also reports of Deepika Padukone, Sonakshi Sinha and Priyanka Chopra being approached for the role, but the ladies too turned down the project, which eventually rolled down to the "Aashiqui 2" stars.
"Aashiqui 2" hit theatres in 2013 and since then Shraddha and Aditya have made quite a mark in the industry.
"As far as the male lead is concerned these actors (Shahid and Imran) did not have dates, so they opted out of the film before signing the contract. Aditya and Shraddha are perfect for the film," added the director.
Dhulia is also teaming up with Ekta Kapoor's production house, Balaji Motion Pictures, for the first time and finds her a successful producer with great marketing and publicity skills.
The film will be the "Bullett Raja" director's first romantic project. Dhulia has previously directed thriller films including "Haasil", "Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster" and "Pan Singh Tomar".
"Milan Talkies" has been in the news for quite some time now and was supposed to hit theatres in 2014, but got delayed as the cast was not finalised. However, the makers are now confident that the film will release by late 2015.
Moreover, now that Aditya and Shraddha will share the screen space once again, it would be interesting to find out if the duo creates "Aashiqui 2" magic with "Milan Talkies."
Meanwhile, the director is presently busy shooting for his multi-starrer film "Yaara". The friendship drama is the official remake of the French film "Les Lyonnais" (2011). The film also stars Vidyut Jamwal, Amit Sadh and Shruti Haasan.
