Baazaar producer Nikhil Advani and Saif's talent agency – Emmay Entertainment – received the threat calls and emails. "Recently, the producer Nikkhil Advani, and Saif's talent agency received a threat call from an unknown individual, who isn't very happy with the movie," a source told Deccan Chronicle.
The team has alerted the matter to authorities. An official statement has also been released by Emmay Entertainment. "We understand that our colleagues at Exceed Talent Management have received threatening emails, whose contents are untrue and unsubstantiated. It appears to be the mischievous work of troublemakers. We have reported the matter to the authorities and are allowing them to address the manner appropriately. There is no disruption caused by this in our relationship with Exceed, its management and talent. We are grateful and excited that our film Baazaar is under aggressive production and are looking forward to its completion soon," a spokesperson for the agency said in the statement.
Baazaar will see Saif as a sophisticated entrepreneur with shades of grey. The film is touted to be inspired by Leonardo DiCaprio's The Wolf Of Wall Street. Baazaar will hit the screens in December.
Meanwhile, Saif will next be seen in Chef, slated for July. The film is the official Hindi remake of the Hollywood hit of the same name.
