Police in London have released shocking new CCTV footage of a courier being knocked down by her own van after it was stolen while she was making a delivery. The 22-year-old suffered serious injuries after being hit by the Ford Transit van on 21 January in Biggin Hill, South London.
The unnamed courier had left her keys in the ignition to deliver a package in Sunningvale Avenue, when an opportunistic thief jumped in the van and started to drive off. She then tried to stop the thief, but was hit by the vehicle and sent flying.
The victim was left with a shattered kneecap and broken ankle following the incident and is still unable to return to work following a number of operations. While the van was later recovered in Orpington, no one has been arrested in connection with the incident so far.
The incident was caught on a CCTV camera belonging a house across the road. The Met Police are now appealing for information.
