The producers of upcoming action thriller Shivaay have joined hands with TBS Planet to create a comic book series. Actor Ajay Devgn will launch its first look at the Comic Con Mumbai on October 23.
Rajeev Tamhankar, founder of TBS Planet, has confirmed the news in a statement released to the media. "We are official comics partners for Ajay Devgn's upcoming Bollywood movie Shivaay. We are developing an entire comic book series over it. The first book will be launched by Mr. Devgn and other cast members at Comic Con Mumbai on 23 October," says Rajeev.
The comic book of Shivaay is scripted and designed by TBS Planet. Priced at Rs 99, this book will be available in paperback and e-book format. It will be retailed through all leading e-commerce websites including Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal. The book will also be available at select bookstores and retail outlets.
The comic book will show adventures of an expert mountaineer named Shivaay, who uses his wit, skill and expertise to overcome odds. The book covers a thrilling episode of Shivaay's North Pole expedition. "The readers and fans will have a treat reading the comic as the book's story and characters are completely independent of the movie," says the founder of TBS Planet.
TBS Planet was started with an aim to bring back the comics culture in India. The comics studio earlier worked with Balaji Motion Pictures to create comic book series for the movie A Flying Jatt. "We are currently working towards building Indian universe of superheroes. Our first superhero - "Ved" had become the #1 bestseller on Amazon within fifteen days of launch," Rajeev says in the statement.
"We launched another superhero - "Varun" last month and are currently working on one superhero and one super-heroine characters for November launch. We are also launching our TBS Planet comics mobile app at Comic Con Mumbai on 22nd October so that people can read comics for free from anywhere - in cabs, in buses, trains etc," Rajeev Tamhankar adds.
Shivaay is one of the most-awaited Bollywood movies of 2016 and Ajay Devgn has handled multiple responsibilities in the movie. Besides acting, he has also directed and produced the movie under the banner of Ajay Devgn FFilms. The film features Sayyeshaa Saigal and Erika Kaar in the female leads. Mithoon has composed music for the film, which is scheduled to release on October 28.
