SHINee has internally struggled as a group after member Jonghyun died in December 2017 from an apparent suicide. However, the members have shown unity and decided to move on with their lives. Taemin, who remains to be the vocalist of the group, talked about promoting with SHINee as well as his solo endeavours.

As noted by website Soompi, following his promotions with SHINee, Taemin travelled to Vietnam recently. Here he spoke to Allure Korea and also posed for a photo shoot with the magazine, for its September issue. During the interview, the singer talked about working with his boy band as well as his solo outings. Look at some of the photos from 'Allure Korea' below.

"I wanted to put in a little more effort for these activities as it had been a while since we promoted as SHINee. Because we promoted in a meaningful way, I have no regrets," Taemin said. Regarding his solo activities, Taemin revealed that he has a solo concert lined up at Japan. "I'll be performing at over 20 shows in Japan. I want to grow more through these concerts. I'm really happy about communicating with other people about what I'm feeling while doing these shows," the singer said.

Taemin's solo career began in 2014 with the release of the extended play 'Ace,' which topped South Korea's Gaon Album Chart at that time. With his second extended play 'Solitary Goodbye' in 2016, Taemin made his debut in Japan, where he will be returning soon.

Taemin talked about how he had changed as a person being a member of SHINee. "My introverted personality has become more extroverted. I think I was influenced by the members. Because I think as [my thoughts] naturally flow, I'm more comfortable," he said.

As for the popularity of Taemin's dance for the 2017 single 'Move,' the singer said, "Many people ask about the dance, but they just move their waists." He said that the secret recipe to his dance in 'Move' was "self love."

Shortly after the release of his album 'Move,' Taemin said he wanted 'to go beyond what K-pop typically is perceived' to be. "My aim was to find a middle ground, mixing both masculine and feminine movements into the choreography together," he said in an interview with Billboard.

Meanwhile, on August 27, the title track 'Ring Ding Dong' from SHINee's 2009 album 'Year of Us' surpassed 100 million views on Youtube. August has been a good time for K-pop as BTS's music video for 'IDOL' has already garnered over 91 million views on YouTube.
