In the latest development in the tiff between Shilpa Shinde aka Angoori Bhabhi of "Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!" and the producer of the show Binaifer Kohli, Cine & TV Artistes' Association (CINTAA) has decided to prohibit broadcasters and producers from working with Shilpa.
CINTAA came to the decision after Shilpa remained determined not to return to the sets, despite being directed by the association to resume shoot. The association had cited that since Shilpa had signed an exclusivity contract with the production house, she cannot decide to quit the show midway.
"We tried to reason with the actress on several occasions. Finally, we have decided to act on the issue after contemplating over it for a month. She is setting a wrong precedent and we have no choice but to support the producer," Amit Behl, chairperson, Dispute Committee, CINTAA, told the Times of India.
Meanwhile, Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) will take the final decision regarding the issue. "We have discussed the case, but are yet to take a decision on it. Shilpa wanted the case to be tackled by our body, but did not turn up for the meeting on three occasions despite several calls and text messages. We need the producers to send us a letter before confirming that they will ban their colleague if he/she happens to cast Shilpa in the future," Dilip Pithva, honorary general secretary, FWICE, said.
Last month, Shilpa stopped shooting for the show after accusing the production house of mental torture. However, some reports said the actress had decided to quit the show to be a part of "The Kapil Sharma Show." Recently, "Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai!" producer Kohli told SpotboyE that she is ready to replace Shilpa as it has already been a month since the actress stopped shooting for the show.
