Bollywood diva Shilpa Shetty, who has judged a few seasons of "Nach Baliye," will soon be judging another dance-based reality show. According to reports, the makers wanted to rope in a popular face for the show and Shilpa fit the bill perfectly.
The actress reportedly liked the concept of the untitled show and has been paid a whopping Rs 10 to Rs 14 crore, which is almost double her "Nach Baliye" amount, Mid-Day reports. "Shilpa liked the concept and decided to take it up since she wanted to experiment with something fresh instead of sticking the same old format of 'Nach Baliye'" a source said.
"The makers of the show were keen to rope in a popular face, and had approached some A-list actresses, including Shilpa. So, when she responded positively, they agreed to pay a fat cheque to her," the source added.
This is not the first time that news of the "Dhadkan" actress being paid a hefty amount to judge a show has surfaced. Last year, there were reports that Shilpa had been offered Rs 14 crore to judge the eight edition of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa." She chose to opt out of "Nach Baliye" and be a part of "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" as the shooting was held in Mumbai and she wanted to be close to her three-year-old son, Viaan Kundra.
However, due to reasons unknown, "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" didn't see Shilpa as one of the judges and instead Shahid Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khan, Ganesh Hegde and Lauren Gottlieb took the judges' seat. Rumours had it that Shilpa chose not to judge "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8" as her younger sister Shamita Shetty was a participant on the show.
