Telugu Cinema review: "At a time directors in Tollywood are making movies with bigger ideas, novel storylines, toying with refreshing themes, there are also directors who are stuck in time-warp. They are not able to come out from their template of storytelling which is discovered in late 70's by then directors. Sher is one such example."
123 Telugu review: "Kalyan Ram makes an stylish entry now... A massive fight is on. Sonal Chauhan makes a sensuous entry. Some comedy scenes featuring Brahmi and Sonal Chauhan are on. The late MS Narayana makes an entry as lungi baba"
Chitramala review: "Sher is a run-of-the-mill story which has absolutely nothing entertaining to offer. This one too has Kalyan Ram being as ineffective as he was in his debut. There are the mandatory clips from the grandfather N.T.R and uncle Balakrishna. There are the complex dance steps which are lackluster."
The Hindu review: "If taking down a so-called dreaded don was as easy as shown in the film, it's laughable that no cop worth his salt ever tried doing it. In fact, there's a cop waiting to take credit for all the hero is doing. Sher is a test of endurance."
