A dramatic video has been released that shows the moment high winds caused the roof to collapse from a three-storey building in west London, with the falling bricks and debris narrowly missing the pedestrians below.
The CCTV footage, released by Hammersmith and Fulham Council, was filmed at 3:19pm on 5 December. Numerous pedestrians can be seen walking down the pavement on Uxbridge Road in Shepherds Bush when the roof of the building suddenly comes crashing down, sending up thick plumes of dust.
Luckily, no one was seriously hurt in the incident. The building is currently undergoing renovation works by the owners to include a loft conversion and three flats. The nearby Shepherds Bush Empire is closed for the rest of December as a safely precaution amid fears over the safety of the roof.
