It's the battle of the two tennis beauties -- Maria Sharapova and Eugenie Bouchard -- at the Madrid Open 2017 tournament on Monday, May 8. Needless to say, the hype among the tennis fans all over social media -- from Facebook to Twitter and Instagram -- is at the highest level.
Sharapova, 30, and Genie Bouchard, 23, face-off in the second round of the WTA and ATP competition in Madrid, Spain.

The match was hyped to be one of the biggest matches of the competition when the women's singles draw for the Madrid Open was made last week. However, not many tennis fans really felt that the battle would see the light of the day owing to Bouchard's frustrating tennis season this 2017.
"[On whether the female stars would actually meet in the second round] Seems unlikely as that That jealous loser Bouchard never gets past first round [sic]," wrote an user on the Maria Sharapova Fan Group page on Facebook.

"Great! Lets see what this immature lady can do against Maria! Straight sets win Champ! [sic]," said another Facebook user from the Maria Sharapova fan page.
Maria and Genie have clashed four times in the past, with Sharapova winning all of them. Only once has the Canadian Bouchard been able to take a match against the Russian Sharapova to a three-setter.
That said, the support from the plethora of Genie Bouchard fans over the internet -- who calls themselves the 'Genie Army', is going on rising with every passing minute.
"Come on you Genie Bouchard, let's beat the entitled cheat. Vamos [sic]," wrote a fan on Twitter.
"I hope Genie beat her and send her home. She shouldn't be there playing! Anyone else would have to work their way back, after drugs. [sic]," wrote another Bouchard fan.
