Shankar-directed "Boys" was considered a film much ahead of its time. The multilingual movie, starring Siddharth, Genelia D'Souza, S Thaman, Bharath, Manikandan and Nakul, had given them a break in Kollywood.
While Siddharth has gone on to become a bankable star, Bharath, Manikandan and Nakul are still struggling to create a niche for themselves in Kollywood. And while a happily married Genelia D'Souza has settled down after ruling the hearts of youths for years, S Thaman has quit acting and has become a popular music director in South India.
Now, after 13 years, they are set for a reunion. The news has been announced by S Thaman on Twitter. He wrote: "#Boys reunion goona be back on silver screen after 13 years if everything goes as per plan details Very soon @Actor_Siddharth @Actor_Nakul. [sic]"
The movie will feature Siddharth and Vimal in the lead, reports Behindwoods. S Thaman is expected to score the music for the upcoming film. However, it is not clear what roles Bharath and Manikandan will play and whether Genelia will be part of this project, which will be directed by Mahendran Rajamani.
Mahendran Rajamani is a former associate of Amudhan of "Tamizh Padam" fame, and he had also assisted the directors in films like "Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham" and "Inimey Ippadithan."
The untitled flick will be bankrolled by Vansan Movies and will reportedly take off in June.
