Shankar and Vikram, who have teamed up twice before, seem to be getting ready to join hands for the third time. It is said that the director has narrated a story to the actor, who has agreed to work without much hesitation.
A report on Indiaglitz says that Shankar approached Vikram for his next movie after "Endhiran 2" aka "2.0." He narrated a one-line story, and if everything falls into the place, the duo might team up again, added the report.
Shankar had first directed Vikram in "Anniyan," which was dubbed in Telugu as "Aparichitudu" and in Hindi as "Aparichit." The South Indian versions had turned out to be big hits. Chiyaan had played the role of a man suffering from multiple personality disorder who turns vigilante in his war against corruption.
The duo collaborated again for romantic-thriller "I." It told the story of a deformed man who sought revenge against the people responsible for his predicament. This film too was made in multiple languages, but it was much bigger than previous movie "Anniyan." The flick had shattered many box-office records and even today remains one of the highest-grossing movies of South India.
As the duo has delivered such big films before, there will be huge expectations from them to deliver it again. However, neither Vikram nor Shankar has opened up on the rumoured project.
Currently, Shankar is busy with "Endhiran 2" aka "2.0," starring Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson. The multilingual movie is being made with a massive budget of Rs 350 crore, which is the highest-ever in the Indian film history. It will hit the screens in 2017.
Vikram is busy with "Iru Mugan," which is written and directed by Anand Shankar. He has also given his nod to "Garuda," directed by Thiru.
