Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush starrer "Shamitabh" will release on Friday, but looks like the buzz surrounding the movie is not up to the mark.
The advance booking counter, which opened on Monday, has received an average response for opening day shows. Considering that "Shamitabh" features Big B and Dhanush and is been helmed by R. Balki, the film is expected to fetch a decent start at the box office in India.
However, the advance booking status has, until now, got an average response from moviegoers across the country. Furthermore, since Friday is a normal working day the occupancy might remain low on Friday.
But the business is expected to increase over the weekend based on reviews from critics and celebrities. The advance booking status at several online ticket booking portal shows good occupancy for Saturday and Sunday shows, compared to day one.
So, the opening day collection might be low but weekend business would take the film in a safe zone, if the film manages to pull the crowd.
Meanwhile, apart from lead actors, the film also features prominent directors from film industry.
Well-known directors, including Rajkumar Hirani, Gauri Shinde, Karan Johar, Mahesh Bhatt, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra and Anurag Basu will be seen in a guest appearance in "Shamitabh" movie.
"We are extremely excited to have such great talent on board the film ...It's a huge honor for us that they agreed to be part of Shamitabh," R.Balki told The Times of India.
The film also features evergreen beauty Rekha in a prominent role.
"Shamitabh" is a story of two individual or actors, who comes together for a film, but drifts apart when their ego comes in between. The film also features Kamal Haasan's daughter Akshara Haasan in a female lead role.
