Actress Shalu Kurian, who is known for her turn as Varsha in the popular Malayalam serial "Chandanamazha", has made an appearance in a bold avatar in a video that has been doing the rounds of social media for quite some time now.
The actress is seen working out in the video, which was shared by many through WhatsApp and on other social media platforms. Many have criticised her for shedding some of her inhibitions and clothes in the video. Shalu has now come forward to claim the video is part of a movie named "Calling Bell". Directed by actor Kollam Ajith, the movie also has Kalabhavan Shajon, Kottayam Nazeer, Devan, Kochu Preman and Jaffer Idukki in pivotal roles.
"Yes, that's my video; it is not fake. It was part of a movie named 'Calling Bell' that I had acted in, and it wasn't a bad film. I am not ashamed to say this since I am the one who acted in it. I would have felt bad only if it was a fake video. My family supported me then, and are doing it now as well, and that's why I have opened up on the matter," Shalu told Manorama Online.
Shalu's character Varsha in Sujith Sunder's Chandanamazha", aired on Malayalam entertainment channel Asianet, has made her a household name among TV audience in Kerala, even though she appeared in many other serials in the past. Before "Chandanamazha", she had played the antagonist in the serials "Indira", "Sarayu", had a comic role in "Kalyani Kalavani" and was also a part of Sreekumaran Thambi's "Chattambi Kalyani" .
