For quite sometime now, speculations of Shahid Kapoor's half-brother Ishaan Khattar making his Bollywood debut have been doing the rounds. Rumours of Ishaan being a part of Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2 were followed by a probable take-off with Hindi remake of the Hollywood flick, The Fault in Our Stars, opposite Saif Ali Khan's daughter.
Now, the latest buzz is that the aspiring actor will be making his Bollywood debut with the Hindi remake of the Marathi blockbuster, Sairat, the remake rights of which were acquired by KJo recently, Mid-Day reported.
Ishaan's mother, Neelima Azeem, however, chose to remain silent on the issue. "It would be wrong to talk about his debut. The makers have their plans of making an announcement. Ishaan has his entire career in front of him," she told in an interview with the DNA.
The Hindi version of Sairat will be co-produced by Karan's Dharma Productions along with Zee, who were the original producers of the regional film. The remake will have a new cast and the makers have already started working on the script, keeping the basic storyline intact. The film is expected to go on the floors by next year.
Sairat, starring two newcomers, Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar, is a tragic-romantic love story, directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Nagraj Manjule. It is about a poor boy, Prashant, who falls in love with a rich girl, Archana. The lovebirds elope when the society opposes them for falling in love.
Although Ishaan is gearing up for his Bollywood debut as a leading actor, he had earlier shared screen space with Shahid in Mahesh Manjrekar's 2005 fantasy-drama, Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi. The 21-year-old is a fabulous dancer and had recently assisted Abhishek Chaubey in Udta Punjab.
