Karan Johar had, via Twitter, confirmed that the sequel of "Student of the Year" (SOTY) is on its way. Now, the buzz is that Shahid Kapoor's brother Ishaan Khattar will make his acting debut with this film.
Ishaan, who worked as an assistant director in "Udta Punjab," has been auditioned by Karan's Dharma Productions, according to SpotboyE. Earlier, there were reports that KJo will be launching the 20-year-old in Bollywood. It seems Ishaan is set to make his debut with "SOTY 2."
"Student of the Year" also had three newcomers – Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan – in the lead roles. Recently, Alia expressed her interest in making a special appearance in the sequel of the film.
"I don't know if the star cast of 'Student of the Year' has been finalised, but I know 'SOTY' was made with three newcomers and I think that should remain. 'SOTY 2' should be made with a new star cast but I'll ask Karan if I can do a special appearance in the film," Deccan Chronicle quoted her as saying.
Meanwhile, Alia is busy promoting her film "Kapoor and Sons," in which she appears with Sidharth for the second time after their debut film. The film released March 18 and it has received positive reviews from both the critics and the audience.
On the other hand, Karan has sparked off major casting speculations after he announced "SOTY 2." It will be a treat to the audience to see another handsome hunk entering the industry. There were reports that Shahid has been grooming his little brother for Bollywood and if Ishaan gets selected in "SOTY 2," then fans would love to see these two in a film in future.
