Shahid Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Prabhu Deva to meet Donald Trump in September

U.S. Republican presidential contender Donald Trump will reportedly hobnob with Bollywood celebrities like Shahid Kapoor and Malaika Arora at a charity event organised by the Republican Hindu Coalition (RHC) in New Jersey on Sep. 24.

If Shahid attends the event, he will leave behind his daughter who will be less than a month old by then.

Celebrities like actors Yami Gautam, Amisha Patel, Kajal Aggarwal, Shriya Saran and Ram Charan, actor-turned-director Prabhu Deva and singer Kanika Kapoor are also expected to attend the event.

Sources say Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar is also expected to put in an appearance, even as a brochure prepared for the event promises "family fun, yoga, meditation and blessings from spiritual leaders. An earlier flyer from the event had Sri Sri's photo on it, but as more celebs came in, his face disappeared from subsequent flyers, like the one below.

The RHC has said in a series of advertisements that the event called "Humanity United Against Terror" is being organised in support of Kashmiri Pandits and Hindus displaced from Bangladesh.

Donald Trump will be special guest at the event and deliver the keynote address, just a couple of days prior to his first Presidential debate with Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

The charity event, according to publicity materials put out by the RHC, is expected to be attended by more than 25,000 "Hindu-Americans." One document put out claims that there are apparently as many Hindu Americans as Jewish-Americans.

The RHC has also put out a video commercial for the affair, which promises that attendees can "meet and greet Bollywood stars." Watch the video here: 

This may be the first attempt by Trump to reach out to a more diverse voter-base ahead of the U.S. Presidential elections this year. It also comes after his apology for the extreme right-wing tone of his campaign. Earlier, Trump wanted to bar the entry of Muslims into the U.S. and build a wall along the country's border, ostensibly to keep Mexicans out.
