After much speculation, Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan and actress Katrina Kaif will be seen together for the first time onscreen in an upcoming film directed by Yash Chopra.
The shooting of the film will start on Jan. 9 after the production house Yash Raj Films formally launch the forthcoming film with a pooja ceremony on Jan. 8.
The latest news about the much-awaited romantic film was confirmed by none other than Yash Chopra's son and actor Uday Chopra.
"Launching my dad's film today with a little pooja at YRF... shoot starts tomorrow with @ iamsrk (Shah Rukh's twitter name) and Katrina Kaif.. Dad directing after Veer- Zaara (sic)," Uday wrote on his micro-blogging site Twitter on Sunday.
Apart from the fact that Shah Rukh and Katrina will share screen space for the first time, the upcoming film is also special for two other reasons.
First, it's going to mark Yash Chopra's return to direction after seven years - his last directorial venture was "Veer Zaara" (2004).
The second will be Shah Rukh's return to the romantic genre after his two ambitious action films: "Don 2 - The King is Back" and "Ra. One." The music of the new film will be composed by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman.
Earlier, Shah Rukh and Yash Raj have together given some superhit films like "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" (1995), "Dil To Pagal Hai" (1997), "Mohabbatein" (2000) and "Veer Zaara" (2004).
