Media has always been the link between celebrities and audience, while messing with them might cost a superstar's stardom.
Though, Bollywood stars hate media to take their privacy away, without them the celebrities will lose their charm and popularity.
Nowadays, big stars coming late to a press conference or showing attitude are not acceptable to the media. They show their power by taking a stand and boycotting them unanimously, hence depriving them of any sort of publicity.
Here are some of the Bollywood celebs who faced media boycott:
Shah Rukh Khan
King Khan had to face media boycott during his "Happy New Year" press conference. SRK along with his co-stars arrived at a conference after four hours of the given time. Turning up so late made the media furious and they decided to boycott the event.
Kareena Kapoor Khan-Saif Ali Khan
Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan had made the media to wait for several hours before turning up for a meeting. The couple's unpunctual behaviour didn't go well with the press and they walked out as the star couple arrived.
As a courtesy, the chote nawab apologised for being late, but Bebo was least bothered about everything.
Salman Khan
Kind-hearted as well as outspoken Salman Khan landed into trouble due to his arrogant behaviour with the media. A few days before the release of "Kick", Khan's bodyguard got into an argument with the photographers and the superstar also didn't show any sympathy. He even said, "Those who want to cover the event are welcome to stay, the rest can leave if they wish."
Later on, photographers decided not to take any photos and boycotted him till his movie release.
Amitabh Bachchan
Big B has suffered a media ban including no photos, no interviews and not a single mention of him in any medium. It was Bachchan's peak time of career when he had to face media boycott.
Later, the veteran actor had clarified the reason on his blog stating that some of his sources informed the press that he had brought an emergency ban over them. So, as a tit-for-tat, the media decided to ban him.
Shraddha Kapoor
The newbie of B-Town Shraddha Kapoor made photographers wait outside at the promotional event of "Ek Villian" and promised them to pose for the camera later.
But the actress refused to get clicked when she came out of the event and moved on. Her irresponsible way of treating the media made her suffer a few days ban.
Jacqueline Fernandez
Media has taken stands for late-comers several times. When Jacqueline Fernandez, who was invited as a guest of honour at a popular event, she turned up late. As a result, she too fell victim to media boycott.
