Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan has 8 million followers on his official Twitter page.
The actor thanked his followers on the micro blogging site.

SRK, who joined Twitter in 2010, is active and has often interacted with fans. However, he stopped tweeting in January 2013 for about four months as he faced criticism over his controversial interview in Outlook magazine.
"Sad, I read so much judgements, jingoism, religious intolerance on the net and I use to think, this platform will change narrowmindedness, but no! (sic)," the actor tweeted before taking a break from posting messages on twitter for nearly four months.
SRK was back on the micro-blogging site in May 2013 and started tweeting about his film "Chennai Express." Since then, the actor has been using twitter actively and tweeting about various topics.
As soon as the number of followers for the actor reached the 8 million mark, the social media platform was flooded with congratulatory messages for the superstar. Since then, #SRK8Million has been trending on the net.
By reaching the 8 million mark, SRK has outperformed the other popular Khans – Salman and Aamir – in terms of twitter popularity. Both Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have 7.19 million and 7.17 million followers on twitter. However, King Khan is yet to beat veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan, who has got 9.12 million followers on twitter.
Other popular actors of Bollywood are way behind these stars in Twitter popularity. "Krrish 3" actor Hrithik Roshan has 5.78 million, Deepika Padukone has 6.45 million, Priyanka Chopra has 6.27 million, Akshay Kumar has 5.04 million and Abhishek Bachchan has 4.13 million followers on the micro blogging site.
In terms of Facebook popularity, Salman leads the other Khans with 16 million likes on the social networking site. Aamir and Amitabh have 13 million fans each, while SRK has 9.3 million likes on Facebook.
