The 18th edition of International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards is set to take place in New York, US from July 13 to 15. The prestigious annual ceremony will see the presence of several biggies from the Bollywood industry including Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Sushant Singh Rajput and Shahid Kapoor.
However, like last year, Shah Rukh Khan will give IIFA Awards 2017 a miss as he will be busy promoting his upcoming film Jab Harry Met Sejal with Anushka Sharma. Besides this, there is a personal reason to skip the award function as well.
According to DNA, SRK's elder son Aryan has suffered a nose injury recently while playing football at school. While the teenager is already on medication, doctors have advised him to undergo a surgery, which will take place around the same time as the IIFA Awards.
Shah Rukh Khan has always been a doting father to his three children - Aryan, Suhana and AbRam - this time too the superstar has got his priorities right.
A source told DNA: "Shah Rukh's son Aryan broke his nose while playing football at school. Aryan is already on medication, but the doctors have advised him to undergo surgery. SRK will be travelling abroad for that. It has been scheduled around the same time as the award function, and his priorities are very clear. The concerned father will obviously prefer being by his son's side."
Meanwhile, the makers of SRK-Anushka's Jab Harry Met Sejal have unveiled the first look on June 8. The film, which was earlier scheduled to release on August 11, has now been preponed to August 4. With this, the clash between SRK's film and Akshay Kumar's Toilet Ek Prem Katha has been averted.
