Until now, Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming films — Raees and Imtiaz Ali's The Ring — were set to clash with two big-ticket projects led by Hrithik Roshan and Akshay Kumar. Not anymore.
While Roshan's Kaabil will arrive in theatres a day before it was scheduled (which is on January 25), in the process avoiding a box office clash with Raees, Kumar's Crack has been pushed to 2018, giving Khan's film with Ali an opportunity to enjoy a solo release on August 11, 2017.
Taran Adarsh tweeted a few days ago: #Kaabil and #Raees won't clash on *same day*... Rakesh Roshan to release #Kaabil *one day earlier* - 25 Jan 2017 - from 6 pm onwards.
Meanwhile, sources have the perfect explanation as to why Neeraj Pandey's Crack has been delayed by a year. Kumar has back-to-back releases in 2017 and therefore it wouldn't make sense to squeeze in another important film, an insider informed DNA.
"Crack has been pushed to 2018. Akshay already has Jolly LLB 2, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and the biggie 2.0 releasing in quick succession next year. Jolly LLB 2 releases on February 10 next year. Toilet will come mid-next year around June-July. And Robot 2 is scheduled for a big Diwali release. So it's extremely difficult for Akki to fit in another film in between these ones," the source further elaborated.
Also, Kumar is yet to begin work on Crack and there has been no pre-production news on it ever since the makers announced it on Twitter. The source in the know claims that Kumar will not clash with Khan at the box office.
