Speculations surrounding Shah Rukh Khan's next with director Rohit Shetty just don't seem to end.
While the remake rumours have been denied by the director, fresh reports suggest that the film has been tentatively titled "Dilwale". The makers, who had earlier reportedly zeroed in on Kriti Sanon to star opposite Varun Dhawan, are now considering Alia Bhatt.
"A week ago, Alia was given a narration and she's keen to feature in the SRK-starrer tentatively titled Dilwale. She will take a final call in the coming week as she's already committed to Shakun Batra's next which rolls around the same time," Mumbai Mirror quoted an insider as saying.
However, no official confirmation has been made by either Shah Rukh Khan or Rohit Shetty.
Talking about his venture with King Khan, Shetty said he will not reveal the confirmed cast until March.
"Just the other day I was having a discussion with Shah Rukh and he said, 'Rohit, let people speculate for one more month. After that, we will disclose the name.' So I also thought, 'Yes, why not, let's keep people guessing'," he told Hindustan Times.
In other news, Alia-Varun's pairing would look absolutely delightful on screen, considering how charming they looked in "Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania".
However, like every relationship, this one too had to chart troubled waters. But, according to a Filmfare report, the duo is back to being friends after deleting one another from their phones' chat services.
Shah Rukh, who has had a pretty hectic schedule with back-to-back shoots, told last month how his next with the "Chennai Express" director isn't a remake and rather a populist film.
"No, first I read it was a remake of Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi, then Hum and later Amar Akbar Anthonly! Let me tell you it is none of these. In fact the narration that I have got, I haven't heard or seen anything like it before. It's a populist happy film but original," he told DNA.
