The casting speculations surrounding Shah Rukh Khan's next with Aanand L Rai is getting interesting by the minute. Because it's a two-heroine project, the filmmaker will need another leading lady (Katrina Kaif has apparently been confirmed for one of the spots), for which he is in talks with Sonam Kapoor and Alia Bhatt.
Although a DNA insider informed that Aanand has spoken to the actresses, an industry source explained why none of the two may sign the dotted line. "Sonam is in the best phase of her career and she might not want to do a two-heroine film right now. As for Alia, her film with SRK will hit screens soon. It's highly improbable for them to come together once again in such a short span," the source further elaborated.
Even if Alia doesn't, Sonam may just agree to come on board. First, the film may require two leading ladies, but the parts are prominent. Also, Aanand's films are known for their well-sketched out characters, which should be a good reason to get Sonam to work. Second, she shares a rapport with the director; they have worked in "Ranjhanaa" together.
Meanwhile, Aanand, who is yet to announce the cast of his next, said that people will be surprised with what he's coming up within the next month. "Yes, it's a two-heroine film and there are actors in my mind. But it's a little too early to talk about it right now," he added.
SRK will be seen playing a "little person" in the film. However, the story doesn't only focus on the height of its central character. "Mine is an ordinary character in extraordinary circumstances. It goes beyond India at one point but the seed is in Meerut. My films are more about the people than the place. So you will get to listen khadi boli and feel the temperament of the place...a dwarf with an attitude," the Hindu quoted Aanand as saying.
