Both Shah Rukh Khan and Imtiaz Ali have, on several occasions, expressed interest in working with each other, but nothing concrete was ever established. Recent reports suggest the two have been working nights trying to figure out the best options for their next project together.
"Imtiaz wants to break away from the philosophical heaviness of Rockstar, Highway and Tamasha," SpotboyE reported. Apparently, it will be an out-and-out comedy.
Rumours about SRK and Imtiaz joining hands for a film have been around for months now, but the filmmaker has denied the possibility of them teaming up every time. "I have also heard about the rumours. I wish they were true. I would definitely want to work with Shah Rukh Khan," Absolute India News quoted Imtiaz as saying.
Last year, the 50-year-old actor, in an interview with Pinkvilla, said they would often interact and chat just to know what the other person was thinking. The superstar added that he asks Imtiaz to narrate stories to him whenever they bump into each other at parties.
"We are friends and sometimes we just want to know what we are thinking, not with me in these projects necessarily. So Imtiaz and me have done this exercise many times. We both feel that one day we will come together for a film, and if that happens, it will be very nice. I would love to work with Imtiaz," he had further elaborated.
SRK is gearing up for his next, "Fan," which will be released April 15. He has Rahul Dholakia's "Raees" lined up next and a schedule or two with Gauri Shinde & Co.
