Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif's cold war is escalating by the day. The stars are making it evident with some of their career decisions.
According to a SpotboyE report, Katrina has walked out of Shah Rukh Khan's next with Aanand L Rai after learning that Deepika too is one of the leading ladies of the film. "So either she fakes it (rapport) or she leaves it (film), and she chose to leave it," a source told entertainment portal.
The director is now looking out for other actresses for his film. Scheduled to release on Dec. 21, 2018, the as-yet-untitled project is being made on a lavish budget of Rs. 150 crore.
The staggering amount is because the film relies heavily on VFX. Shah Rukh will be playing a dwarf in the film and because of his injury, he has expressed his disinterest in playing the character with folded knees.
"It will need tightening. We will do it once and fail, maybe. But we will get it right because it has been done previously. I think it has been tried in 'The Hobbit.' But we have never used that technology in India," SRK further elaborated.
So what made Deepika and Katrina so averse to each other?
Ranbir Kapoor is the common factor keeping these two actresses at loggerheads. Katrina and Deepika have a history with the "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" star and it is a bitter one.
What's interesting is, although Deepika and Ranbir had a not-so-amicable falling out, they came back stronger with their films – "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" and "Tamasha." They sort of straightened their fractured relationship. This was apparently one of the reasons why Katrina couldn't continue dating Ranbir.
