Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is in high spirits, with his latest release "Chennai Express" having smashed all previous records and becoming the fastest film to have crossed the ₹100 crore mark at the box office.
The actor, who is also celebrating the birth of his son AbRam, recently hosted a grand Eid party at his Mannat residence in the presence of prominent celebrities and business leaders.
The actor sent a formal SMS to all guests and most of them landed up late in the night for the party. Bollywood veterans Dilip Kumar and SairaBanu, Bachchan family (Amitabh, Abishek, Aishwarya, Shweta), Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza, Madhuri and Shriram Nene, Varun Dhawan, Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukherjee, Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Anil Kapoor, Nikhil Dwivedi, Sridevi, Raveena Tandon, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Manish Malhotra, Kunal Kohli, Lara Dutta and Jackie Shroff were among those who attended the bash at Shah Rukh's bungalow.
"It was post midnight that the party caught momentum. All the guests started pouring in late into the night. Mukesh Ambani, Mahesh Bhupati and SachinTendulkar were the highlights of the party as they are rarely spotted in the Bollywood party circuit," a guest told Mumbai Mirror.
The Bachchans, who came to the party venue much later, were personally attended by Shah Rukh's wife Gauri. Amitabh and a few guests were shown AbRam's room, where the little bundle of joy was apparently sleeping.
Later, the "Paa" actor posted a message on his Facebook page saying, "A lovely evening spent at Shahrukh's place for celebration of Eid and his new born son AbRam .. lots of friends and well wishers ... and with the children and grandchildren .. finished late, but happy late .."
Though several Bollywood personalities attended the Eid bash, some notable members were missing at the venue. Arjun Rampal, Juhi Chawla, Kajol, Ajay Devgn, Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra were among those who gave the party a miss. SRK's "Chennai Express" co-star Deepika Padukone was also missing from the party.
Salman Khan, who was expected to be seen with Shah Rukh once again post their reunion at Baba Siddiqui's Iftar party last month, did not attend the Eid bash. Both the superstars were not on talking terms ever since their ugly spat at Katrina Kaif's birthday party in 2008. But when they were seen at an Iftar party in July this year, they hugged and greeted each other to everyone's surprise.
Following the incident, the internet was abuzz with the news that the two actors have patched up. It was even reported that Shah Rukh had personally invited Salman to attend his Eid party on Saturday (10 August). But the "Dabangg" star did not turn up at the event. However, his brother Arbaaz Khan and his wife Malaika Arora were seen at the party.
