Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan were supposed to share screen space in the film "Rang De Basanti" but the former had to back out due to date issues.
SRK and Aamir have never worked together with full-fledged roles in any movie till date, but the "Dear Zindagi" actor was offered the vital role of R Madhavan in "Rang De Basanti." Although Shah Rukh liked the role, he could not take up the project as he had already given dates to the makers of "Paheli."
"I did give Shah Rukh Khan the script of 'Rang De Basanti' and he was supposed to do the role that eventually went to R Madhavan. He loved the script and he would tell me time and again that ''Rang De Basanti" is the only script that he kept on his bed side and made a point to read it at regular intervals. Sadly, it didn't materialise, but I thought he was a great choice for that role. I am not saying, Madhavan didn't do justice to the role as every actor brings his own contribution to the table. His acting talent and good points made it look convincing," Catch News quoted director Rakeysh Om Prakash Mehra as saying.
Madhavan had played the character of an Indian Air Force pilot, who dies in the film due to governmental negligence. Although Shah Rukh and the "Dangal" actor never had any full-fledged role in any film together, the duo had shared screen space in Ashutosh Gowariker's debut movie.
The film titled "Pehla Nasha" had the two superstars among some others in special appearances. A video had come up a few days back, in which Shah Rukh, Aamir, Saif Ali Khan, Rahul Roy, Deepak Tijori and Sudesh Berry were seen sharing the screen for just one scene.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh will be seen in Gauri Shinde's upcoming movie "Dear Zindagi" and Aamir will soon begin promotions of "Dangal."
