Bollywood actor Shah Rukh will perform live in Australia for the first time at an upcoming film festival.
The 47-year-old actor will visit the country in October for the annual Parramasala Festival 2013 in Parramatta, Sydney, the organisers of the annual festival said in a statement.
The Parramasala Festival is an annual arts festival that celebrates cultures of South Asia and Parramatta's many diverse community, according to the official website. The 2013 festival will be the fourth edition which will be celebrated for four days starting 4 October.
The 47-year-old actor will perform during the closing event, "Temptation Reloaded", on 7 October at Allphones Arena Homebush. He will perform in a two-hour variety show of music, dance and comedy
"Parramasala is a key arts and cultural event on the NSW Annual Events Calendar and brings some of the world's best artists to Western Sydney. We are thrilled to welcome Shahrukh Khan to Sydney and Parramatta for the event and invite him to experience the very best of what Sydney and NSW have (on) offer while he's here," Sandra Chipchase, CEO of Destination New South Wales (NSW), said in a statement.
The live concert is expected to attract huge crowds from Fiji, Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia, which serve as key markets for Bollywood films.
"We are expecting SRK and the Temptation Reloaded show to attract significant international visitors to Sydney and more than 5,000 people from around Australia," Chipchase added.
Meanwhile, the actor, who recently had a third child AbRam through surrogacy, has been busy with the promotions of his upcoming film "Chennai Express" which is slated for release next week.
